How can farmers gain a more accurate understanding of their fields’ needs – without spending unnecessary time, fertiliser and pesticides? This is the challenge Scout Robotics is working to solve.
Scout Robotics is a Danish drone company developing solutions for precision farming. Through drone flights, multispectral cameras and digital field analysis, the company transforms field data into practical treatment maps that help farmers apply pesticides and fertiliser more precisely, based on the actual needs of their crops.
Since 2021, Scout Robotics has been on a multi-year Innobooster journey with Innvite as its funding and project partner. The collaboration has included three successful Innobooster projects, each helping to mature the technology step by step – from drone-based photosynthesis analysis to more advanced AI-based solutions for precision farming.
The first project focused on using drones and multispectral cameras to analyse photosynthesis in potato fields and convert the data into GPS-based treatment maps. The aim was to give potato growers a stronger basis for applying pesticides and fertiliser according to the specific needs of their crops.
Since then, the technology has been further developed through two additional Innobooster projects.
The focus has gradually shifted from drone analysis and manual map generation to more advanced solutions using AI and Machine Learning. The projects have included weed maps, nitrogen maps and desiccation maps, all designed to support a more precise, climate- and environmentally friendly production of starch potatoes.
The latest Innobooster in 2026 builds on the same ambition but takes the solution into a more autonomous workflow. Here, multispectral drone imagery, AI/ML algorithms and a SaaS platform are combined to give farmers faster access to precise treatment maps for both fertiliser and pesticides.
Across the collaboration, Innvite has helped Scout Robotics structure the projects, sharpen the innovation potential and translate the company’s technological development into strong Innobooster applications.
The result is three successful projects that support Scout Robotics’ development from drone-based field analysis to AI-based precision farming.
