Preventing unwanted bacterial growth in equipment is a daily challenge for many manufacturing companies. This occurs e.g. in food production, where it is critical to react quickly, if unwanted growth of bacteria begin to thrive in hard-to-reach production tubes.
A new solution now promises to detect the uninvited bacteria faster and more effectively in their early stages of development.
With funding from InnoBooster (Innovation Fund Denmark), the company IntuBio ApS will detect bacterial growth in industrial productions long before it becomes visible to the naked eye.
IntuBio ApS has previously developed an optical 3D sensor technology with support from Innovation Fund Denmark. Now IntuBio takes the technology a step further and makes it applicable to full-scale production. The objective is to provide companies with an accurate measurement of bacterial growth in a matter of hours. This will be an improvement of the existing technological solutions, which today require access to a laboratory and where the response time can be several days.
With a successful outcome from the InnoBooster-project, the industries will, internationally, be able to respond faster and more efficiently to unwanted bacterial growth. This benefit both the consumer and the climate, as we use our limited resources more efficiently.
